Mosaica Partners believes that healthcare is local and that the planning and formation of an HIE must reflect the culture and norms of its community. We encourage the involvement of the community and its HIE stakeholders at every step along the way. During the planning and development/early implementation phases of an HIE, Mosaica brings a wealth of experience and expertise to assist our clients.
We work with our clients to guide them in their HIE formation activities and to ensure that the effort is both led – and strongly supported – locally. Our experience shows that this is a critical success factor for building a sustainable HIE.
The basis of our approach is to provide advice, counsel, and HIE domain expertise. We transfer appropriate knowledge to the client to prepare the community to be self-sufficient in operating and sustaining their HIE.
Benefits of the methodology we utilize includes the use of Mosaica’s HIE Maturity Framework which describes the five key activity and competency domains which must be addressed by a community in the formation of an HIE. Using this Framework as a guide, we work directly with our clients to develop their own customized roadmap to HIE formation.
Once the roadmap is developed, we then continue to work with them to help them complete the various initiatives that have been identified in the roadmap. The initiatives to be addressed may include developing and implementing a stakeholder engagement and participation plan; creating the HIE governance model; developing the business and operational plan; identifying appropriate privacy policies; and creating and implementing an appropriate technical architecture.
