Mark’s specialty is transforming organizations through streamlined planning and disciplined execution. He advises Mosaica’s healthcare enterprise development services, including organizational diagnostics, performance measurement and management, strategy formation and execution, process refinement and optimization, and organizational design and development. His focus is on making organizations work seamlessly for employees, customers and stakeholders by strengthening leadership, governance, communication and accountability.
Recent projects Mark has been involved with include reorganization of the Washington, DC school system, assessment, reorganization and performance improvement for several federal biomedical research agencies, startup of a personalized healthcare research company, and transformation of several nonprofits and professional associations. His facilitation of high-visibility issues includes developing US military strategy for WWIV, recovery from nuclear terrorism and national health security strategy. He regularly facilitates boards and executives in the areas of governance and board development, transformation planning, and strategy refinement.
Mark is a Certified Management Consultant (CMC), an ISO-accredited international certification, which is the highest professional designation in management consulting. He was recently named a Fellow of the Institute of Management Consultants USA, the professional association and certifying body for U.S. management consultants.
For seven years, Mark was lead quality examiner (Baldrige), and he has held several professional society leadership positions, including the Institute of Management Consultants USA (immediate past national Board Chair, current Ethics Chair), Alumni Council of the Harvard Kennedy School, Society of Petroleum Engineers (past national technical committee chair and chapter president) and the AAES (R&D Policy and K-12 Education Committees). Mark is an author, invited speaker, seminar leader, and expert witness, facilitator, trainer, has received professional, academic, and athletic awards. He has been listed in several professional directories, including Who’s Who Among Emerging Leaders and Who’s Who in America.
Mark holds degrees in City and Regional Planning from the Harvard Kennedy School, where he was a Teaching Fellow for undergraduate and a Teaching Assistant for graduate students, and in Biology from Colgate University, where he was named to the Konosioni senior honorary society.
In addition to has role of VP of Performance Management for Mosaica Partners, Mark concurrently serves as President of Research and Organization Management (ROM), a strategy and performance management consulting firm he founded in 1994.
